New ranges prove international bestsellers for Jersey Pottery

Jersey Pottery’s recent attendance at two of Europe’s largest consumer gifts exhibitions, in Frankfurt and Brimingham, has sparked a flurry of requests from international clients.

Jersey Pottery launched four new pottery ranges at the shows and have since been inundated with orders from Australia, Mexico, Spain, Italy, Germany and the US. Existing distribution activity in France, Belgium and New Zealand was enhanced whilst exciting opportunities were discussed with numerous other countries, including representatives from Canada, Argentina, Russia, China and Australia.

“We are delighted with the response we have had so far. Attendance at these key exhibitions is crucial for establishing Jersey Pottery as an international brand and our recent orders place us firmly in league with some of the top homeware brands in the world”, says Jonathan Jones, Director of Jersey Pottery.

One new order came from Beymen Home Stores in Turkey, one of the country’s leading luxury houses, which ordered ceramics from Jersey Pottery’s Meditteranean, Winespeak and Cheese series to feature alongside their exisiting brands which include Villeroy&Boch, Prada Home, Ralph Lauren Home, Marc Jacobs&Waterford and Philippe Deshoulieres.

Another order has been placed by The Parker Company in Dubai for a Michel Rostang managed restaurant in the Atlantis Hotel set for completion in November 2008. The celebrity chef is already using Jersey Pottery products in his Michelin starred restaurants in Paris.

“We are thrilled to hear about Jersey Pottery’s growing success in international markets”, says Wayne Gallichan, Director of International Trade for Enterprise and Business Development. “Export is crucial to support Jersey’s economic development objectives, whilst creating international awareness of the quality of the products and services exported from here.”

“Economic Development is delighted to have supported Jersey Pottery in their recent attendance at the consumer gift exhibitions and we will watch their growing success with great interest.”

Jersey Pottery opened an export department in 2001, which has grown to become a key part of the overall business.

Jersey Pottery’s new ranges, including Mediteranian, Berry Splats, Fruits de Mer Cook & Serve and Steamy Delights are available in stores, and online at www.jerseypottery.com this week. – ENDS
