WhiteSpace Gallery
01 May 2008
To encourage and support local artists, Jersey Pottery is inviting creative talent to utilise their gallery, Whitespace, for events and exhibitions. The exhibition space offers local artists a unique opportunity to showcase their work to locals and visitors in one of the key tourist destinations on the Island.
“We have a great space here in Gorey to showcase the best of Jersey’s creativity in an artistic environment. It is a hub for tourists and locals alike offering a great platform to present the variety and depth of their talent”, says Jonathan Jones, Director of Jersey Pottery.
The WhiteSpace gallery also offers plenty of room for an exhibiting artist to work within the space, as an “artist in residence”, with the old ceramics factory creating the perfect backdrop as a studio space adjacent to the exhibition area.
“WhiteSpace has been an excellent place for me to exhibit my paintings”, says Jersey Artist Norah Bryan who is currently showing in the gallery. “I’ve had great feedback and plenty of interest from visitors to the Pottery and would certainly recommend it to other local artists as both a profile raising and commercial initiative”.
The Gallery is open daily from 9am to 5.30pm and is free to the public.
There is no fee to exhibit in the space. A negotiable commission will be taken on sales.
Applications are welcome for May to December 2008 and must be made directly to Jonathan Jones via email to jonathan@jerseypottery.com or in writing to The Jersey Pottery, Gorey Village, Grouville, Jersey, Channel Islands, JE3 9EP. Once an application is receiv
