Jersey Pottery behind Elle Decoration Design Awards 2007 winner

Jersey Pottery is celebrating news that its ‘Jersey’ Oven Dishes for Whirlpool, designed by the world-renowned industrial designer Sam Hecht, have won the prestigious Elle Decoration Design Awards 07.
Competing against seven other nominees in the Kitchens and Tabletop category, the ‘Jersey’ dishes beat some of the best of British designers to the title, including Kelly Hoppen, Terence Conran and Wedgwood.
“We’re delighted to have been approached by Sam Hecht to produce his beautiful pieces for Whirlpool,” explains Jersey Pottery Director Jonathan Jones. “Just to be short listed alongside such formidable designers, in the highly respected Elle Decoration British Design Awards, was quite staggering! To win confirms Jersey Pottery as one of the best manufacturers in the country.”
Describing the products, Elle Decoration says: “Oven dishes rarely look this elegant; we love the minimal, sensuous shapes by Brit industrial designers Sam Hecht and Kim Colin. Made of hard paste porcelain to withstand all temperatures, they’re freezer and dishwasher-proof too.”
Elle Decoration is the UK's premium interior design magazine, has a world-wide readership, and is very influential in setting trends for home interiors at the highest level. The Elle Decoration British Design Awards recognise innovation and support design excellence, promoting public awareness of good design and the Best of British design and manufacturing talent.
Winners were selected by the Elle Decoration readership and were presented with their award at a high profile awards dinner last night in London. –ENDS
